A majority of D.C. residents are unhappy about the city’s direction. We asked them why.

The number of homicides and robberies has nose-dived, unemployment is trending down, and fountains across the District are once again flowing. But as Washingtonians prepare to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday, they are feeling more pessimistic about the capital city’s direction than they have in nearly 30 years, according to a Washington Post-Schar School poll.
